Clubs at Sandalwood

Clubs to sign up for to keep you busy - even in online school.

By Khushi Bedi

As the school year approached, many of us were unsure about which clubs to try out for, and whether this was an interest. We may have even had ideas of what clubs to join and become a member of. Well, this school year is quite different than in the previous years.

Obviously, all meetings are either on the prominent known platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Google Meets, etc. The feeling and excitement a person used to feel before the coronavirus and quarantining phase, was exhilarating for some, as many of us were proud members of Girls Leadership Program (GLP), Eco-team club, DECA, HOSA, wellness team, yearbook committee, and other excellent programs/clubs.

We all acknowledge the times when life was great, when clubs were known as the peak of de-stressing, and the joyful days when brainstorming took forever, or the enchanting laughter that filled the room once someone made a hilarious joke. But this isn't something to be upset about. We can have the same amount of fun online as we had in the previous years. So if you are ever thinking about joining a club, do it! Go join and follow your passion; and remember it will be the memory that you will have, not you thinking the odds of it.

These times are unique, especially to live in one. The feeling you will have ten years down the road, about the times where clubs had to be online will be a different experience not everyone will get to have. "Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it's called the present."
