Brawl for Justice and Affection

By Simonpreet Chopra, a grade 11 student at Sandalwood.

Imagine a child dreaming a dream,

Singing her heart out to a pretty stream,

She urges for justice,

She searches for answers,

Answers to queries of unjust disasters.

“We should be past discrimination,” she heard

Then why are all her motives “absurd.”

She cries her eyes out to bed,

Not over toys but over a world mislead.

She hopes to work for people,

And mends her demeanor.

When she heard about what a lawyer is,

She fell in love with the idea of the political bliss.

I hope one day that little girl reaches all her goals,

Not only what is limited but she opens new exciting doors.

But other than what is in her mind,

Something resides in her heart,

An entire different side.

When she heard music,

Her eyes lit like candles.

Behind every laugh and beside every tear,

Music was her most reliable gear.

She would sing and she would write,

During the darkness it provided her light.

Her words are strong,

Ones to be shared,

For the ones you love

And to the ones you cared.

Nothing is stable, nothing would be,

But peace is like sitting under a tree.

I found my niche, I found my connection,

A brawl for justice and affection.
